Integrated Technologies
Plex Online has many built-in technological capabilities, some of which are described below.
We have integrated with Oracle, QAD, Microsoft Great Plains, Baan, Ultipro, and others.
|
Online Access
Because Plex Online has been designed and built from the ground up as a Web-based software solution, it makes the ideal platform for connecting to customers, suppliers, and employees over the Internet.
|
Mobile computing
Certain modules within Plex Online run on wireless handheld Pocket PC's such as the HP iPaq and other industrial handhelds.
Mobile Computing is used for shop floor control, inventory management, preventive maintenance, tool tracking, and a variety of other functions where mobility is important.
|
Bar Coding
Since its inception 15 years ago, Plex Systems has been an industry leader in bar coding on the shop floor. It's one of our key strength areas. While other vendors have minimal bar coding capability or achieve lack-luster results with "add on" packages, Plex Online has bar coding built in. Plex Online's bar coding, which supports hundreds of standard and specialized bar code formats, is fully-integrated into the application itself, which is the only way to achieve the true benefits of bar coding. Bar codes are used for inventory tracking, shipping/receiving, tool tracking, gage tracking, labor time and attendance, and other areas.

Wireless Networking
Plex Systems can help you setup a new wireless network, or utilize an existing one. Because Plex Online functions over low bandwidths, it thrives in a wireless environment.
|
PLC Integration
Plex Online integrates with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) that monitor and control production machinery.
Plex Online can be integrated into a variety of machinery, including, but not limited to the following:
- Weigh Scales for inventory and shipping/receiving
- Automatic Packaging Machines
- Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
|
Direct Part Marking
Plex Online is integrated with direct part marking technology. Direct part marking is used to track individual pieces or components. We support Data Matrix and other standard symbologies, but we also offer a highly unique technology called glyph. A glyph is a special mark placed on each part. It contains an ultra-secure encrypted serial number, sustains extreme field conditions, can be read on curved surfaces, and is still readable even if 80% of the image is destroyed. The Plex Systems glyph can be applied via laser etching or printed on a standard label printer. Direct Part Marking provides extremely detailed level of traceability.
|
Gage Interface
Plex Online integrates with electronic gages, which eliminates data entry issues on inspection checksheets.
|
Online Graphics
Plex Online thrives on the use of graphics and charts to make it more powerful and easier to use.
- Photographs - Business Graphics - SPC Charts - File Attachments
|
Automatic Notification System
We know that you can't be in the office or on the shop floor every minute of the day, so Plex Online supports a variety of automatic, user-configurable notifications when key events occur, including notification by email, pager or cell phone. Do you want to be notified when a key machine goes down? Or when a key shipment goes out the door? Just ask Plex Online to keep you informed.
|
Touchscreens
Our user interface has been designed to be used with touchscreens for shop floor use.
|
CAD Integration
Plex Online provides seamless integration between the part dimensions inside the CAD file and the part specifications in the Plex Systems database. The part specifications drive the FMEA, Control Plan, Process Instructions, Checksheets, SPC, Gage System, Part Layout Forms, and so on. Plex Online is the only application on the planet that provides this level of paperless linkage between engineering, quality, and production. AutoCAD and other CAD systems are supported.
|
Visio Integration
Plex Online is integrated with the diagramming and flow charting tool Visio. The Visio Integration Module allows you to link Visio diagrams into Plex Online. This module is especially useful for managing audits, providing shared online diagrams across the enterprise, creating special visualization tools, and/or setting up unique user interfaces.
|
Direct Faxing & Emailing

|
RF ID
Plex Online is integrated with RF ID tracking technology.
