Plexus Online eliminates many of the typical documents and forms by replacing them with a highly structured and interrelated database.
Any and all document formats can be managed and controlled through the Plexus Online Document Control System.
Document Control System The Document Control module provides the ability to store, edit, track and view documents on line. Includes full electronic approval and revision tracking system ideal for ISO/TS 16949. Supports many file types, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, AutoCAD, PDF, HTML, and more. This module is usually used to control the Quality Manual, Procedures and Work Instructions. It is also used for the Employee Handbook, Supplier Handbook, and Technical Documentation.
Any and all document formats can be attached to records in the Plexus Online database.
Universal Attachment System The Attachment system allows you to attach files to records in the database. File attachments are used for Employees, Equipment, Gages, Orders, Problem Records, Customers, and many other areas. Attachments can be in any file type, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and digital photographs.
Microsoft Visio is an excellent tool for drawing flowcharts, schematics and other diagrams.
Visio Integration (Flowcharts/Diagrams) This module allows you to upload a Visio Diagram into Plexus and then easily create hyperlinks from the shapes within the diagram to various capabilities within Plexus, such as other Plexus modules and procedures/documents in the Document Control System. You can also configure the shapes to drill down into other flowcharts or out to external web pages. The fully-annotated Visio diagram is displayed to users in a simple-to-use user interface (no Visio license required). This module is ideal for providing intefactive Business Process Flow Diagrams for TS-16949; the fully power of Plexus becomes available at your fingertips, directly from the flowchart itself. Auditors love it. This module is also suitable for providing Plexus-integrated interactivity to any other type of Visio diagrams.
Plexus customers also have the option of using our Hosted Desktop services. Instead of installing, maintaining and upgrading Microsoft Office and other applications on each and every PC, which can become quite a burden, Plexus will host your desktop and its applications through our Data Center. This centralizes the effort, facilitates easy support, and provides for a highly manageable, consistent, and secure computing environment. Plexus hosts Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project, Internet Explorer, Outlook, anti-virus software, and various other Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications. (Please note: Hosted Desktop is an optional service and is no way required for the Plexus Online system to function.)
For handling typical desktop applications, we recommend Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. All of these files are readily viewed with Microsoft's Internet Explorer and make it easier to share documents across the corporation.
