PDM Software

Plexus Online is utilized by its customers as a Product Data Management system in that it is used to manage all the part numbers, revision levels, part specifications, manufacturing routings, Bill of Materials (BOM), documents, CAD drawings and other data relevant to a product. Refer to the Engineering section for more details on those modules. However, it should be noted that Plexus Online is not a dedicated, stand-alone PDM package. The dedicated PDM packages on the market grew up from and are provided by a specific CAD vendor and are married into that particular CAD package, which provides certain advantages and disadvantages. Plexus Online on the other hand, is CAD-package neutral, and is highly integrated into the manufacturing system and the company as a whole, rather than the CAD system itself. In some cases, especially for large corporations, we interconnect Plexus Online with an existing PDM software package.
