Material Requirements Planning

A real-time MRP engine to determine requirements for purchased and manufactured materials that support customer demand.

Easily determine what is needed, how much is needed, and when is it needed so that production scheduling can be completed in a timely manner with a minimum of inventory and costs.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

  • Review system-supplied recommendations for procurement of materials and ingredients
  • Recommend purchase quantities and due dates that are based on highly-sophisticated calculations based on:
    • Customer sales forecasts and orders
    • Current inventory
    • Supplier purchase orders and lead times
    • Minimum restock levels
    • Planned production/consumption
  • After adjusting or accepting recommendations, easily convert them to purchase order releases to your suppliers
  • Specify the “regeneration schedule” most useful to your company to obtain near-real-time results several times per day, unlike traditional MRP systems where results may be calculated daily or even weekly

Production Requirements Planning (PRP)

  • Review system-supplied recommendations for production of finished goods
  • Recommend production quantities and due dates based on highly-sophisticated calculations using the same factors as MRP above
  • After adjusting or accepting recommendations, easily convert them to the production scheduling software
  • Specify the “regeneration schedule” most useful to your company to obtain near-real time results several times per day, unlike traditional PRP systems where results may be calculated daily or even weekly

Capacity Planning

Analyze current and future load on production workcenters.

Customer Sales Forecast

  • Develop and store forecast data by period
  • Compare different versions of the forecast
  • Maintain initial sales and manufacturing versions of the forecast
  • Display data by sales revenue or manufacturing quantity

Job Sets

Define and track collections of related jobs (work orders), including jobs to produce components or ingredients for top-level jobs in the set.

Job Templates

  • Flag a job-specific process routing as an approved process that can be reused for future production
  • When scheduling production, select any existing template routing for that item
  • In addition to routing operations, new jobs inherit all other characteristics of the template such as required materials and ingredients, quality control plans, etc.

Job Tracking System

Foundation for Production Scheduling:

  • Plan, execute and track jobs (also referred to as work orders, shop orders, releases, or other terms) which represent instructions to produce a certain quantity of a certain product by a certain due date
  • Highly integrated with inventory and lot tracking, customer orders, and production requirements planning
  • Can be used in stand-alone mode for simple scheduling conditions

Workcenter Calendar
