Plex Systems Continues Customer and Revenue Growth in Second Quarter

July 16, 2009

Plex Systems, Inc., provider of Plex Online ERP manufacturing software, today announced revenue growth of 18 percent in the first half of  2009. This increase comes on the heels of 33 percent year-over-year revenue growth in 2008.  (As a private company, Plex Systems does not publish detailed financial information.)

"Despite the year-long downturn in manufacturing, Plex Systems has continued to grow at a substantial rate in the first half of 2009," said Mark Symonds, Plex Systems president and CEO.  "This is testament to the fact that best-in-class manufacturers are seeing the current economic climate as an opportunity to reinvent themselves, to diversify, to becaome more agile and to achieve operational excellence."

The year-to-date revenue growth includes additional business from existing customers who added enhancements to their Plex Online implementations, as well as the addition of new customers who selected the industry-leading software as a service (SaaS) solution. Some examples of new customers are:

• Fluid Routing Solutions, Inc. (FRS) – Southfield, Michigan-based manufacturer of fuel filler assemblies and rubber extruded products. FRS products are used to route fluids, fuels and gases primarily in vehicles, with four locations in North America.
• Plastic Platers, Inc. (PPI) – Cleveland, Ohio-based manufacturer of chrome plating for large plastic components, such as grills and wheel covers, for automotive and heavy truck industries.
• Termax – Fastener company based in Illinois, a leader in design innovation and meeting customer requirements.
• UNI-SOLAR – The Michigan-based manufacturer of integrated and commercial rooftop photovoltaics, one of the fastest growing segments of the solar power industry.

"Manufacturers have realized that the status quo is no longer good enough – they must think about new ways of doing business, and new ways of using technology to provide visibility into every detail of their businesses," said Symonds. "Plex Online provides this visibility, offering an unparalleled view into their manufacturing and business operations, from the shop floor to the top floor – without the large, up-front expenses required for legacy systems."

Second Quarter Highlights
In June, the company held its third annual PowerPlex User Conference.  The event, attended by more than 200 of Plex System's users and partners, brought manufacturers from diverse industries together to share best practices in reducing waste, increasing efficiency and driving increased revenue.

In April, Plex Online received a Best of SaaS Showplace (BOSS) award for the tangible business benefits it provides its users – including increased sales, lower costs, higher customer satisfaction, faster operations, and greater profitability.

Also late last month, Plex Online was named "Champion" in the Aberdeen Group's "ERP in Manufacturing" AXISTM report. The Champion designation is the highest level of achievement in the Aberdeen AXIS methodology and applies to a vendor that has demonstrated superior proficiency in delivering real value and support of its user base. Plex Systems is the only company to have achieved the Champion ranking in the report. The Aberdeen AXIS report is the result of an objective, fact-based assessment methodology based on vendor performance in more than 250 evaluation criteria.
