What impact will cybersecurity have on manufacturing in 2022?
Cybersecurity threats are accelerating for manufacturing, and the industry accounted for 65% of all ransomware attacks in 2021. Though threats to cybersecurity are on the rise, this survey reveals a lethargic approach from manufacturers to the growing risk.
The 2022 State of Smart Manufacturing Report, Cybersecurity Edition, surveyed 321 global manufacturers who communicated the need for agility, technology adoption, and improved processes to respond to market adversity, including cybersecurity and risk mitigation.
- 61% of survey respondents do not have a plan in place for operational disruption.
- Only 33% of manufacturers cite cybersecurity and risk mitigation as a major threat to growth
- 75% of respondents view technology as a key solution to address workforce challenges, including cybersecurity.
